Carpet manufacturer Betap operates around the world and supplies products to retail and wholesale worldwide. The new offices therefore had to exude some international allure. Mies Architectuur designed a structure encompassing no less than 16,500 efficient square metres to accommodate the company’s production, research and showroom. Pleijsier Bouw, likewise from Genemuiden, was in charge of realising the project.
Betap’s new offices can rightly be called an architectural masterpiece. The visual concept shows a volume enclosed by a dark band, featuring a highly distinctive break, which symbolises a carpet runner that continues into the interior of the building. Stylish and functional.
