Breeze – the first ‘zero energy’ hotel in the Netherlands. Built on the banks of the IJmeer in Amsterdam’s Havenkwartier district, Hotel Breeze is 36 metres tall and features 198 hotel rooms, a restaurant, a sky lounge and fitness facilities. Borghese and the Dutch Green Company have used sustainable eco technology and harnessed the power sources of water, wind and the earth to realise their high ambitions of sustainability.
Hotel Breeze is largely self-sufficient in terms of energy, heat and cooling, featuring solar panels on the rood and façade, a climate cascade system that works as a heat exchanger and a solar chimney that provides heating and hot water. In addition to low energy consumption, this EWF concept also ensures an optimum level of comfort.
