Het Laskwartier is full of potential, with a rich and fascinating history. Over seventy years ago, the Smit Las welding electrode factory set up a new facility here. Originally founded by electrical engineer Willem Smit, the factory evolved into Lincoln Smitweld: a global leader in welding technology. Smit was also a true pioneer. He built the first dynamo and transformer in the Netherlands, helping Nijmegen become the first Dutch city to have electric street lighting.

Where ideas and components once came together, the Laskwartier now brings people together; building the strong foundation every home needs.
