Borghese Real Estate and COD develop 270 free sector rent apartments on Amsterdam IJburg

One of the latest development plots on IJburg is acquired by Borghese Real Estate and COD. They have lot 43a taken on Haveneiland-Oost of housing corporation Stadgenoot. An apartment complex is being built to accommodate approximately 270 rental apartments in the private sector.

The building is in a unique location, with the front view over the IJ. The back is located directly on the marina of IJburg. The building comprises approximately 18,000 m2 of usable area and provides space for housing a varied program with two- and three-room apartments. The development contributes to the urban diversity of IJburg.

In mid-2016 expect Borghese Real Estate and COD to start construction. They are responding to the high demand for free private housing in the middle of Amsterdam. The project is being built by BAM Amsterdam. INBO is responsible for the design.

On the sale Stadgenoot says: “The plot is ideal for construction of housing in the (upper) middle. We focus on cheaper housing: social housing (up to € 700 rent per month) and lower-middle (between € 700 and € 900). The higher segment we gladly leave to the market. The sale of plot 43a we free up resources. Now we can better focus on our core business.”

Borghese Real Estate focuses on developing housing in the middle segment and recently bought the 86.000 m2 ING branch to Velperweg in Arnhem and develops together with COD and Verweij Mungra the extensive Nautique Living apartment complex in Amsterdam-Noord. Borghese Real Estate is a partner in the development of Breeze hotel at plot 43b, adjacent to the recently acquired plot on IJburg.
